Solar Energy
The sun is the bringer of life on Earth. The incredibly delicate balance between the sun’s raw energy, our impossible perfect distance from it, and the massive protective cushion of gas above our heads is hard to comprehend, but all vital to our birth and our survival. But as we rapidly become aware that the bringer of life is also a deadly furnace, and our planet becomes starved of fossil fuel, the atmosphere ripped and torn through our choking pollution, it is becoming necessary to look into other ways of powering our industries and our homes.
Harnessing the power of the sun, using solar energy as a clean, renewable source of non-polluting energy seems like the perfect solution. In one fell swoop we are capable of massively reducing our greed for dwindling resources on Earth, significantly slowing down the harm caused to the atmosphere, and increasing our chances of life on Earth surviving into the next century. Whether solar energy can be implemented quickly enough, and widely enough, to achieve this is a question we have yet to see answered.
