Global Warming
Global warming is a hot topic, with daily news stories all around us, and environmental warnings on many household goods. With even junk mail arriving smothered in recommendations that we help the environment by recycling the paper, few of us can ignore the very real impact that our modern society is having on the planet. Many of these issues, including global warming and climate change, can only be appreciated if long views are taken. Tomorrow our world may well be just the same as it is today – but tomorrow may also be a day too late to make the difference.
One thing is clear – climate change is real, and the impact is being felt across the globe. We are simultaneously the only species on the planet directly responsible for accelerating environmental change, and the only species capable of doing anything about it. Whether we are capable of taking sufficient action, sufficiently soon, is still to be seen.
